THE WINE EXPERT SUGGESTS IL VINO DEI PADRI

GRIGNOLINO D’ASTI
Slightly ruby red wine. Light, refined, dry wine, with harmonious lively acidity, moderately tannic with hints of bitterness. It goes particularly well with dressed pork products, soup, roast white meat and fish. Best  served at a temperature of 16/18° C.

PIEMONTE CHARDONNAY
Dry white wine, light straw in colour, with slightly greenish shades, floral and fruity bouquet, smooth and fresh taste,. It is ideal with hors-d’oeuvres, soup, fishes and white meat. Best served at a temperature of 6/8° C.

FREISA D’ASTI
Ruby red dry wine with orange and garnet red tints enhancing with time. Flavours of raspberry, blackberry and jam (wild cherry, peach etc.). Fragrant, medium bodied.
Mughetto is obtained from must of Freisa grapes, fermented in absence of peel at controlled temperature, the result is a cherry red colour and a growth in aromas, the delicacy and fragrance.
It is agreeable throughout a meal, ideal companion for hors-d’oeuvres, soup and white meat.
Best served in goblets at a temperature of 16/18° C.

DOLCETTO D’ACQUI
Ruby red wine with violet shade, it acquires with time orange tints bowing to garnet red. Ethereal flavour (rose and violet), it taste like ripe cherry and jam (plum), almond bitterness, soft, harmonious, persistent. It is a wine for all the meal. Best served at a temperature of 18/20° C.

PIEMONTE BONARDA
Wine with intense red ruby colour with orange tints, fresh and vinous bouquet, medium body, fresh and dry taste. It is suitable wine throughout a meal. Best served at a temperature of 18/20° C.

BARBERA D’ASTI
Full ruby red wine,  is aged and refined in oak barrels, acquires garnet red shades with time and becomes garnet red after 3 years. Warm, intense, full bodied, rich in fruity winy flavours when young, it acquires a bitter after taste in wood (liquorice, plums, and dried almonds) and evolves in barriques with flavours of cocoa, cinnamon, wooden liquorice.
It is ideal companion for tasty dishes including red meat, game and seasoned cheeses. Best served in balloon glasses at a temperature of 20° C.

RUCHE’ DI CASTAGNOLE MONFERRATO
Rare Piedmontese wine, with a striking personality; red wine not too dark, with nuances sometime tending to orange. Intense bouquet, slightly aromatic, with floral and spicy notes.
Dry flavour, harmonious and velvety. Wine for all the meal, it is very appraised also by the fair sex. Best served at a temperature of 16/18° C.
